ABOUT PROJECTThis sculptor’s art studio within a stone’s throw of Lord's Cricket Ground and Regent’s Park is nestled away in the corner of a London garden, benefitting from a secluded spot surrounded by trees and foliage.
Converted from an old outbuilding, the smaller Georgian windows were replaced with several sets of fully glazed slimline double doors which allow light to stream through the north east facing frontage, creating the perfect environment for detailed artwork.
The doors boast cremone ironmongery (no handles on the outside for a sleek design) and curved head Heritage fixed frame fanlights above. The fanlights are false with a flat painted wall behind, as they are part of an extended wall to accommodate the arches, making the building look taller and grander than it actually is.
A new extension was also added to the side, with the same casement design copied across, linking the old with the new. Windows are in Thermabronze with opening transoms and quadilent stays. Link bars are fitted to open the top hung windows.
Bronze clad doors at the end of the room are the main entrance and exit to the building with handles both sides and a key lock.
